With a maxed-out crowd watching from the O’Connell Center and fans across the country glued to their televisions, the Florida Gators brought home the team’s third national title with a 65-63 victory over Houston on Monday night.

Gator fans across the country are celebrating now that their squad is headed to the National Championship Game for the first time in nearly two decades.

Ohio State, the first team to run the gauntlet of four playoff games on its way to the national title, celebrated with 30,000 Buckeyes fans on Sunday at Ohio Stadium.

As soon as the 2021 season ended with Georgia winning the National Championship, publications started releasing “way-too-early” 2022 rankings.

2008 was a season of high expectations for Gator football. After suffering just one loss in the regular season, the Gators were tasked with stopping the reigning Heisman winner, Sam Bradford, and Oklahomas high-powered passing attack that averaged 54 points a game.
